In case no one saw this on Gizmodo this morning, it is kinda funny.
Jim Goldman is the guy on the video.
This is the same guy we got bashed on by "Fake Steve Jobs" Dan Lyons. Dan, commenting on the Goldman's coverage of Apple, said:
"There are two kinds of reporters who cover Apple: The kind who realize they're getting snowed ... and the other kind who suck up to get access and end up getting played and punked, like your bureau chief."
This is why I stopped watching the news. The non objective reporting in today's television makes me feel like I'm five years old. Honestly, do they think I can't make up my own opinion if you just present me the FACTS??
I'll stick to my subscription of the Journal and Times, thank you.
-
And I'll stick to the free reviews on this forum, thank you.
-
Jim Goldman is a douche.
-
Someone wrote in the comments section "if you want real news, watch Fox news." Hahahahaha
-
What a joke! I agree with that article that there are valid reasons to choose a Mac over a PC and vice-versa, but CNBC is ridiculous!!
-
Err, what is the point of letting an obvious apple fanboy, say whats better on TV?
-
Also, Am I missing smth or macs are much more expensive?
-
-
I stopped watching the news years ago. If I try to sit down and watch, I end up gagging at all the crap they try to slam down my throat.
-
Regarding the laptops, there are two websites that IMO provide a very good round of information: notebookcheck.com because of their very thorough reviews, and here at notebookreview.com because of the excellent forums (sorry NBR, I think NBC's reviews are better).
The two sites combined provide very very good information, and there is rarely the need to go somewhere else. -
Sigh...leave him. One of two things will come out of this.
People buy Macs to get photoshop and end up seeing they have to buy it and this idiot loses his credibility.
OR
Macs start coming with Apple computers and the Apple Tax of 500% applies thus resulting in their cheapest laptop being just over 1800 US. -
Wow. that was frighteningly stupid. I've got both Macs and PCs, but that story was blatantly ripped off of an inaccurate Business Week article.
The sooner CNBC goes away the better-- -
Didn't they just identify a Mac based bot net, didn't Safari have a major security hole that pretty much was click here to give me total control known for months before it was finally patched or what about the faster processor/higher resolution argument, its pointless. And most of the software that report talked about you can get for free for the PC (Gimp anyone?) and since when does Photeshop? Now the media is getting in on the suck up/off to Steve Jobs camp, WTH!
-
-
IMO, CNN is even worse since they have to "broadcast" news 24/7...haha
-
-
Wow.
Photoshop for FREE? Yeah... no.
Unless of course he means the COST of PS is factored into the price of the laptop, then he's just spreading misleading information. -
Journalists are there to inform the world in an unbiased manner, letting viewers form their own, informed opinions.
That is not journalism. That is something conspiracy theorists point fingers at. -
You would think a company with the resources of CNBC, they would be more well informed. Seriously, how did this crap get past the editors. No one there has ever bought an Apple???
-
Most likely it was a covert infomercial - if you examined the screen images in detail, you'd probably find an infomercial disclaimer somewhere at the bottom in about 1/4 point font.
Journalism at its best - CNBC's Mac vs PC
