I just came out of Standby and all of a sudden, the BSOD appears. Notebook restarts. After it restarts and I log in, about 10 seconds past and WHAM, I get another uppercut from the BSOD.

How/where can I go to see what caused this? I know theres an Event Log or something somewhere...

    Someone shed some light.

Sounds like a memory issue. Do a test with memtest86+.

Start at the Summary page you'll see when you open it. Then drill down on the Critical and error categories.

I also like the "Reliability and Performance Monitor". Under the folder "Reliability tools", click on Reliability mointor. It lists various events by date. Not sure if it reports on BSOD events or not, but worth a look.

    No good, no good.

Can't seem to find anything that tells me what caused it. :(

To see the system log go into control panel and then go to administrative tools.

Once you are there click on event viewer then once that opens click on windows logs then system. Once the log comes up look for any red " x" 's as these are errors that have occurred.
Look through them and find the latest 2 of them and then right click on them and select event properties and see what caused it.

Also in future you might want to set your notebook to not auto restart upon receiving a BSOD as this prevents you from reading the screen. To do this right click on my computer and go to properties then select advanced system settings -> advanced -> startup and recovery and uncheck automatically restart under system failure. Once you do this the system will stop at the BSOD and allow you to read it then you have to do a "hard shut down" to restart the notebook after you have read the BSOD.

At least I think its not telling me what caused it...unless it is? Can you or anyone figure it out?

Something overheating? If it happens twice within such a short timespan, that'd be my guess.
