Hi there. I am trying to upload Xp professional to my Aspire One. Here is what I am doing:
    - Upon powering I hit F2 to change the order of the devices and I put my external CD Drive first
    - I save and exit and when it restarts I hit F12 which takes me to the Boot Menu and I select my CD Drive
    - Windows Setup begins and at the bottom it says 'Set up is loading files'
    - It's fine till the point it says 'Setup is starting Windows' and I get the following Blue Screen Error:
"A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
If this is the first time you're seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
Check for viruses on your computer. Remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers. Check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated. Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.

    Technical information:
    *** STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF7AFA63C, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x 00000000)"
    - So then I run CHKDSK /F and get the following message:
" The type of the file system is NTFS.
    Cannot lock current drive.

Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be checked the next time the system restarts? (Y/N)"
    - I type "Y" and restart the computer.
    - Chkdsk runs and restarts the computer. No indication of errors or anything.
So am I complely stuck...I have no idea why I cant seem to upload XP pro successfully! I know there is nothing wrong my CD because I just installed PRO onto my other Laptop's new Hard Drive. Please HELP!!!

I used Nlite on my copy of XP Pro and included sp3. I didn't encounter any problems during the install.

Perhaps as the above poster seems to be eluding to, you might need a different service pack.

If you have an older version of XP you might want to consider using Nlite to integrate sp3 into your install.
