I've been thinking about using keepass for a while, but how safe is really? If the master password is a minimum of 20 characters mixed with uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols will that be enough? I've heard about auto fill, how reliable is that? How well does it protect against current key loggers, since it's basically undetectable by virus scanners. Are there any options within the program to make it even more secure? Any opinions would be great.

Why don't you just go to the KeePass website and read up on this? All of your questions are treated in exhaustive detail there. As an aside, I wonder what gives you the idea that keyloggers are "basically undetectable by virus scanners". Put simply, that's not true, of course.

Use a keyfile along with the password.
