Okay, I have no idea what happened. System is running Windows 7 HP x64. Specs in sig (MSI GX660R). I've had this installation of Windows for... about four months now. The freshly installed Win7 on my Dellienware does not have the following problem.
Essentially, whenever I right-click on a file--any file--it takes a good three seconds for my right-click menu to show up. Folders or an empty desktop work just fine/instantly.
I, of course, hit up old pal Google. The consensus was that it's some bad context menus. I used the recommended method of ShellExView to look at my context menus. I disabled all non-MS menus; no joy.
I then went and uninstalled everything I could think of that had a context menu: Winrar, Eraser, MSE, Teracopy, Malwarebytes, VLC, and 7zip. I rebooted... and the problem remains.
I did read in passing that sometimes drivers might cause problems, but I haven't updated drivers for my things. And I wouldn't know where to start, on top of that.
Any ideas?
EDIT: Tried something. I disconnected myself from my network--I turned off the wireless card--and things are back to normal. I reconnect though, and the problem returns.

Then it's probably something in the Send-To or Share-With menu that's gone wrong.

Hmm. Any ideas how to resolve that? I tried reinstalling my wireless drivers and rebooting the router (Asus RT-N56U). No luck.
EDIT: I took a look at the folders on the server I'm accessing. When poking around remotely, right-click works just fine on the server's end. It's just my MSI having these difficulties. -

Hmm. Sorry to necromance. I'm having almost the same problem again, albeit not as slow. If I right-click a file the spinning "waiting" icon appears for a beat and then I get my right-click menu.
Right-clicking the same files on my Dellienware--they're on a shared drive on a server--give me zero delay.
It's a near unnoticeable delay, but I'm baffled as to what caused it. I think everything was working fine until I rebooted my router, but I wasn't paying attention to my right clicks until I noticed it now.
EDIT: Think I fixed it. Disabled the Send To, Send to Bluetooth, TeraCopy, and 7-zip Context menus. Right-click is snappy again.
