I have an HP Pavilion DV6663us with an integrated Geforce Go 7150m gpu. I've been noticing some laggy window behavior when maximizing and minimizing things. Also there has been some choppiness in playing movies. From what I understand, this seems to be a problem with this integrated gpu.

When I did a Windows Update I decided to install the drivers that Vista supplied for the 7150m/630nforce. I then went back to the drivers that HP is offering on their website. Both are performing the same in Aero. The only difference is, with the HP driver, (Which is like 130mb.) it doesn't show up as a Geforce 7150 in the device manager like the Vista supplied driver does.

I then went on to laptopvideo2go.com and tried their 64bit driver and I couldn't even install it. (I'm running Vista Ultimate 64bit.) I'm wondering what my options are here..I'm almost thinking of going to either XP Pro or Ubuntu. The sluggishness in Vista gets worse at times. The system is more than capable.

    Specs: Turion X2 TL-64, 2GB DDR2 667, 160GB Sata 5400rpm, Geforce Go 7150m

Should I stick with the Vista supplied driver and tweak something? The HP drivers offers no difference in performance.

Do I just go to XP Pro or try Ubuntu?

What do you mean "I couldn't even install it"? If it says that it doesn't detect any compatible hardware, just replace the INF with the modded one provided at the link right beside the one that downloads the driver.
