I am spending 2 to 3 weeks in Germany a month on business. I'd like to expand my very limited knowledge of the language. Any suggestions for a good program. Running Vista Ultimate 64 bit.
I have heard about Rosetta Stone. People either rave about it or rail against it. I am reluctant to get it because I've heard it doesn't do much for conversation or every day situations.![]()

get urself a book (berlitz) over the counter in any travel shops covering day to day sentences. Keep it in ur pocket at any times of the day as ur companion. Just be brave shooting out the language on every occasion, and u'll be fine.
best software u ever invest

One of the reasons for a program over a book is pronunciation. Also, I think I'm more likely to use the program as opposed to the book. -

The Pimsleur language learning audio (CD) books are very highly rated. I've used the Spanish versions and loved them, and I've also tried numerous other Spanish CDs and DVDs that were very poorly done. Amazon has numerous versions of Pimsleur CDs, from short "travelers German" version to longer ones intended for serious students. Which one you pick depends on how much time you want to put into it. Good luck.
