    Hello everyone,

As i have written in the thread title, i am having problems with my wifi especially. When i open my laptop, it works as usual. Then when it goes to sleep or restart it, it gives this error "the device cannot be started/there is no device as connected."
İ have tried reinstalling drivers from Intel, Dell. Then i have cleaned up all the things on the laptop and formatted it. First hours after reinstalling the Windows, everything was working okay. I have restarted it multiple times, put it on the sleep. No problem. Then i don't know what happened and it has started to repeat those problems. Even i have talked a rep from Microsoft and they said there is nothing they can do more.
I have installed drivers from Dell site. Didn't install unnecessary apps like Alienware Mobile, Support Assist...
I thought now, maybe it can be an hardware problem. Ironically same card who gives WIFI capabilities to device, doesn't create any problem with Bluetooth.
Also even though i have guarantee, i have damaged a plastic on motherboard so it is still working but i had to put a sticky band to make it stabled on the board. So guarante is not an option any more.
So i am just asking you guys, if there is sth you can suggest. Thank you for all the messages.

My device is Alienware m15 R2.

Have you opened the case to find what Wifi card is installed? That would be something to check on. And what drivers are your using and what O/S is installed? It could be also the wifi part of the card is going bad as well so you will have to find another wifi of the same type and verify if it is a hardware or software issue related issue.

Thank you for spending time to share your ideas. Yeah my laptop comes with Intel 8265 dual band wifi card and it's soldered on mobo unfortunately. I have used another wifi adapter from usb port and it worked as it is supposed to be. I was using drivers from Dell directly then the microsoft tech suggest me to update to the newer version so we have done that. Still continues. Weird part if there is a problem with the wifi card, why does bluetooth works normally? Because the card also handles bluetooh connection too.

ugh...I hate when they solder the WiFi. Sometimes only part of it fails because it is used more often that the nature of electronic hardware the more you use the more shorter the lifespan. So unless you can get a different mobo with the same chipset it looks like that is the end for that board hardware. So unless a computer shop can re-solder a new one it looks like it run out of time for it.

I found the solution now. But it's really strange. Normally after i woke up the device, it gives me this error "device cannot be started". So i was using right click menu to disable the device and enable it again. But this way after i enable, it was dissappearing from device manager. So instead enabling it on right click menu, i have tried this combination. "If it gives initiation error, disable it on right click menu. Refresh the device manager. Select the device again. This time enter the device properties. Click the start the device button on the first page. There will be a device initiation wizard. Then press next and magic happens. It starts the device succesfully."
If the initation problem happens after a restart, instead starting the device, it restarts again the device and after the next boot, it works. I totally believe there is a software problem or driver problem. Because it shouldn't start if it's hardware problem. And after it starts the device, i don't live any problem any more.
I am happy now, because i have found the solution but it's kinda unnecessary and strange. Hopefully they can fix this problem soon.

The only way is a complete wipe clean and fresh OEM install or self install to verify if it is hardware or software driver caused issue. This is the worst case have to do. But if it is already out of date model I doubt they will fix this or find a solution for that model. That the nature of hardware development once it's no longer in Production then they won't support older hardware to say and same goes for the software side.
