Ok so I have an ASUS F3 series laptop with Vista Ultimate installed and im very satisfied with it as far as my work goes and the looks and everything. But I also want to install XP on a partition on the same HDD. I have found some guides on the net explaining this and it sounds easy. But I have the folowing two questions
What will happen with the drivers . Will I have to install the XP drivers on the XP partition??Or install somewhere else?Explain pls! And is there a guide to do this specificly for Laptops anywhere on this forum??

    Thanks!

Yes, you will need to install drivers for XP on the XP partition, and you'll probably have to use EasyBCD to restore the Vista boot loader as well.

yes, xp drivers on the xp partition(you're scaring me :) ) you will have to have a 2nd partition to install xp on. My suggestion is that after you have both partitions, right click on them and rename them something like vista and xp. That way when you go to install, you know what they are. It can be confusing if you have more than 2, bu you'll get the hang of it. Some make a 3rd for "files".

cute partition manager is great for making partitions and is freeware(google for it). Vista also has a nice partition manager.

Vista is at home on C: Don't mess w/ it.

you'll need the sata drivers ready at install- most others you can update later, check your device manager for any problems

And if something goes wrong i can just format the XP partition and no hard feelings with the rest of the HDD right? :) . @ nobscot6 : I currently have 3 partitions :p . Vista; Files; and Ubuntu , but im gonna use the Ubuntu one for XP after I format it... Thanks for info though. Pretty useful especially the sata drivers part.

    right

yea, the sata drivers can really be a killer when installing xp on a newer laptop that came pre-installed w/ vista. many manufacturers don't support xp on them and you have to search for them. if you need them and don't have them, you'll either get an error or more common is the BSOD. have them on an usb or cd.... if they're in an installation package, extract the package to your usb/cd
