I'm wondering which is better, should I go with all the drivers HP has spesified for my NC6400 or for example go with Intels newer chipset and wifi drivers instead?

    Any experience with this?

Notebook manufacturers like HP don’t write their own drivers, instead they take the hardware manufacturer’s driver and customize : disable features that are not supported or might cause stability issues etc. HP branded driver may be more stable, but manufacturer’s driver will give you more features and slightly better performance (due to regular updates) .

I use hardware manufacturer’s driver whenever possible.

I find that the manufacturers of the products like the bois, sound card, wifi, have the more updated drivers than the companies like Hp, Toshiba, Acer etc.

Yes, because companies like HP only release their own re-branded driver once in a while, only for a major release (bug fix) of the manufacturer’s driver.

But DO NOT install any BIOS updates from outside sources (even if you somehow manage to find one; which normally you cant except for few ODM notebooks).
