    Hello everyone.

I have an HP dv7 laptop, the resolution is 1600x900. Every time I try to connect it to my Sony TV (1080p, 55-inch, non-3D), the screen doesn't "translate" correctly. I've tried all resolutions on my laptop, and none of them will fit perfectly. The screen is somewhat zoomed in, therefore parts of the screen are cut off on the TV. Is there any way to fix that or not, due to the resolutions on the laptop and TV?

    Thanks for the help.

I'm sorry if I posted this in the wrong subforum, not sure where it goes!

You need to check the underscan / overscan option in the Catalyst Control Center while the TV is connected to the laptop. Also, make sure the resolution is set to 1080p when the TV is connected.

I'm so embarrassed, I just got so frustrated, I messed around with the settings on the TV till I figured it out. It was something called "Auto Display Area" which has to be set to "Off" and Display Area has to be set to "Full Pixel". Sorry about that.

I've noticed on my laptop that i need to disable the laptop lcd and only use hdmi out to TV to get the correct resolution. usually most laptops have a Fn+ F7 or similar to toggle which displays to run.
