I set my laptop to go 'standby' mode when I close the lid and sometimes I've been getting this problem where it just shuts itself ofhenIE close the lid before I go sleep and when I turn on the laptop nextday, i get error message that it has been recovered from an error and the cause is bluescreen.
Also, I noticed the battery level is low whenever this happens. So my guess is that laptop doesn't go standby mode and it just keeps itself on and drains battery and causing it to turnoff?
Anyone else having this kind of problem?
And yes I checked the power option from control panel and it's set properly.

Have you reviewed the battery properties and checked the actions at different warning levels?

Yup, I did. Also, I didn't have any problem regarding this issue in vista though.
