    Laptop turns by itself from hibernate

    My laptop turns on by itself from hibernate each morning around 7 am.

    I've checked the bios.
    I've done system restore.
    I've deleted the hibernate file and restored hibernation option.
    I have the time for windows update to automatically check for updates to off.
    I don't think I have any other programs which would turn on my laptop.
    I'm connected to a network since I live in a dorm.
    My ac adapter is plugged in...

    Laptop doesn't turn on when I have my laptop top closed.

    What's wrong??

    Did you set the laptop to wake up everyday at 7 through "schedualed task"?

    i dont really know how to use task schedular thing... and this only started happening recently like a week ago.

    i only have my printer plugged in, so i dont think its to do anything with USB. and with the network? Ill try disconnecting my modem tonight and see what happens tomorow morning.

    ok my laptop just turned on byitself a couple of minutes ago. and it was disconnected from the internet...

    mine turns itself on from full shutdown, it`s the lan cable doing it, even though i have wake on lan disabled in the bios, the only way i could stop it from starting up was to disable wake on lan in the device manager.

    my pc does that at 6 in the morning when on standby. really annoying. haven't found the reson yet.. :)

    hmmm i checked the task schedular and apprently my laptop turned on at 6:41 today...idk why

    Its not the defrag that's scheduled to run at said time? I doubt it but maybe worth a look.
