Originally, I had my Compaq Presario V5000 (Win XP Pro SP2) in "do not suspend or hybernate while plugged on", "power button shuts down", "suspend button hybernates" and "no password asked for when resuming". But for the last 2 weeks It's been turning itself to "suspend / hybernate after 25 min", power button suspends, suspend button (Fn-F5) also suspends and asking for password when resuming.

I've gone to Power Options, reverted the changes and OK'ed. No use. Even deleted the original power profile and created a new one with "do not suspend/hybernate. Whenever I leave the notebook for an hour or so it suspends and then hybernates. Upon resuming it asks for a user password and when I get to the Power Options I see that all changes I made have been reverted.

What can it be? I used to leave it downloading stuff and as a media server for the house but now I cannot count on it being on when I wake up.

Yesterday, I ran Kaspersky and TrendMicro online. Today I ran Spybot S&D. No threats found whatsoever.
