I use launchy on and off but I was wondering, how do I make it search for music in my pc. i started to type the song title and it didn't come up.
I went to options>catalog tab and added the directory...but that didn't help. is that what you're supposed to do? Idk

have u looked into the tips given from launchy?
http://www.launchy.net/#tips
cheers ... -
If u have Vista then u dont need it... i also used it for a month..but it slows down my comp while indexing...so i removed it.
But yes, i loved the concept of Launchy..
Its best for XP users.
As for your problem: did u let it Index first? .when ur comp is idle..it will index the music folder. -
yea those tips have nothing to do with what im asking though.
and ya im using it on my my xp. yea everything is left default but my music doesnt come up -
it did mention something about indexing ur music folder with extension
"Index your Music
* Directory: My Documents
* File Types: .mp3 .aac .ogg
"
u already checked that, right?
cheers ... -
Did you get what qhn said? That's the key. You have to add the extensions of any files you want to index.
-
thanks for the info qhn
-
in file types right? i added .mp3 and rescanned it. still nothing
-
-
no i dont have all those file types. just .mp3 and .lnk
i only want my mp3 music there.
i added so many directories and rescanned catalog yet my index only has 338 items... -
So you have the correct directory, i.e. C:\Users\Brandon\Music\ and you have *.mp3 in the filetypes?
-
yupppppppppp

I installed "Launchy" (XP) and now want to uninstall it. However, using the "add/uninstall" in the control panel it says I am not able to do this as "Launchy" is running! I can't find out where it is running and doing the "run" or the desk top icon doesn't bring up the program. I tried going into program files and it would not remove from there either. Gives the same message. Any help or thoughts?
-
right click on the task bar, and open task manager, then in the processes tab, stop the launchy process, then try uninstalling.
-
Did this last suggestion and did stop the "running" of Launchy, however still not able to remove. It still says "running" and not able to remove. What now?
-
. Remove Launchy from your startup processes/services.
. Restart your comp
. Try removing Launchy again

Thanks for suggestions. I did a system restore and all is OK now.
