INTRODUCTION
As of August 2014, these are the latest Windows 7 ISO's released by Microsoft.
These are the second versions of Windows 7 SP1 ISO's ( Media Refresh or SP1 U) that were published by Microsoft (including SHA1 values) in May 2011
Useful for anyone who:
- Bought a Windows 7 DVD and lost/damaged the disc.
- Bought a computer with a Valid Windows 7 COA sticker, look here. These keys doesn't always work with both 32- and 64-bit Windows 7.
- Wants a copy of Windows 7 with Service Pack 1 integrated.
- Wants to perform a clean install to get rid of all software that came preinstalled with the computer. Don't forget to get the needed drivers.
- Wants to perform a clean install with a different language.
- Wants to make a ISO with both 32- and 64-bit versions in one ISO.
You need a key to activate.
Use this tool to copy the ISO file to a USB drive or DVD.
(If you have modified the ISO and this doesn't work, use some other solution, see below. Deleting ei.cfg doesn't affect this tool.)
The English Windows 7 Ultimate with Service Pack 1 uses about 7.3 GB, excluding pagefile, hibernation file, hardlinks, separately installed drivers and software.

Do you need a different version with one of the 13 languages?
For example: English Starter, Dutch Home Premium, Portuguese Ultimate . . .
1 - Download a copy of Professional with your language of choice.
2 - Delete /sources/ei.cfg (either with this tool or manually after you have copied it to a USB drive).
3 - Now you're able to install Starter (x86 only), Home Basic, Home Premium, Professional, or Ultimate.
You still need a key for the version you choose to install.

You have to work in 64 bit Windows to do this with 64 bit ISO's.

Use the correct quotation marks, doesn't work for me in the Swedish version, but "" does, so don't just copy and paste.
PREPARE ___________________________________________________________________
You have to copy the ISO to either a USB drive that's at least 4 GB large, or a DVD.
The Microsoft Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool is the easiest to use, it's the best choice for the majority of users.
It does have one drawback though, it refuses to work with modified ISOs.
If your modified ISO won't install to a USB drive, there are other options.
- Unetbootin.
It reads ISO, it's updated frequently. (Earlier versions didn't work well XP ISOs, haven't tried it lately, not a problem for installing Windows 7.)
Always format the USB drive in NTFS before you start.
- WinsetupfromUSB.
It lets you copy XP and Windows 7 onto the same USB drive, but it can't read ISO, you need to mount the ISO first.

Thanks. How did you get these links? Just curious.
Edit: Googling helps.reborn2003 likes this. -
I found them by accident. I went to mydigitallife just to see if they had any info about Windows 8, and found this.
Checked the old download thread here but didn't see KLF's post until after I posted this, but I think many others would have missed it as well anyway.
Besides having SP1 included, there are many more languages to choose from this time.reborn2003 likes this. -
I don't understand this. Are these full copies of Windows 7? I just bought Windows 7 Professional 64bit from my college (it didn't include SP1 so I had to go through a lot of updates). If I ever wanted to reinstall Windows 7 Pro 64bit, can I just use one of these instead to skip the updating process? (and use the key included with my purchase).
-
^ Yes, these are full copies of Windows 7 with SP1. You can use your key for activation.

It takes some time for it to finish, but the work you have to do is not much, maybe 5 - 10 minutes or so.
Just remember that you have to work on a 64-bit W7 machine to do this for the 64-bit install, and that you still have to make an ISO afterwards (if you need that).
I'm not sure how the original Microsoft USB installer reacts to AIO 32- & 64-bit ISO's, so here's an alternative.
It also allows having XP on the same USB memory.

Unlike Unetbootin it doesn't read ISO's tho.reborn2003 likes this. -
RT 7 Lite works well to customize the latest Win 7 and to integrate any updates or drivers. Afterward, I used the MS tool for USB installation.

And if you start removing components, the MS tool won't work. -
Awesome resource, thank you for creating a new thread for it. I took the liberty of modifying the thread title to be a little more clear about the nature of the download.

Pretty much a scam, there's been a couple of threads regarding similar sites. I found this website with more info on, looks like there's a few sites like the one you posted that have been cloned and then lead to a central site:

No probs. Glad to be of some help

Just want to say thanks for the links on the updated Windows ISO's - Repped.
-
You know, I was really thinking about grabbing the SP1 ISO for Pro x64 English, but I just don't feel comfortable doing so. I'm not even sure if it would work since my copy was an Academic version from a Campus Agreement.
-
I've used an Academic ISO (which is a retail version) to install on a laptop and used the OEM key, no issues at all.
Open \sources\ei.cfg on your existing ISO and see if it says Retail, I think it does.
I think these ISO's will work for you, I'd expect them to work, and I'd be very surprised if it didn't. -
Thanks for the link

Thank you for posting this.

Used this for my new desktop, worked like a charm.

Added:
- Instructions for modifying.
- How to make an image.
- Clean install guide. -
Thank you for this, I downloaded the OEM Win7 ISO from the other, bigger thread and have already burned it but this download will save me a lot of time.
-
guys, i want to know if i can use my OEM key from laptop, which is home premium x64, also want to know if the same key would work on any other version than HP only.
btw, if i do an ABR key file, would that work after the clean install (stepping the activation while install ofc? -
-
ahhh, anyway, so the ABR key file works with no probs after the install? or wont work cause was extracted from OEM w7 and it cant be applied on retail w7 version
-
Does the key from the bottom of your laptop work if you are doing a clean install of the same version of Windows.
-
10char -
ABR can be applied back on windows installed from both retail or oem disc Basically that disc is same, key makes the difference, so they are just one version before key is entered. So much more better than XP was. -
oh i see
btw, i got from msdn academic alliance, a w7 pro x86 OEM copy with the key, but i want to install the pro x64 version that i downloaded from digital river on my laptop. can i use the same key? -
-
Hi, wonder if anyone can help, I want to perform a clean install of my laptop, however I never created the backup discs upon purchase so thought I'd download this but when I tried I got an error message saying it's unavailable. Have the links been taken down? Cheers Steve
-
They are working for me just fine. Change the browser you are using and use a download manager if you are not.
-
Thanks for the advise. I'd already tried IE, Firefox and a download manager but still got the server error. After you advise thought I'd try a different download manager and still got the same error, however I then tried Chrome as a last resort and it's working, very strange!
-
This is strange behavior. If it is not something to do with your ISP you should not have this problem after you clean install. It is possible that you have some kind of adware or virus. This should also be gone after a clean install.
-
Thanks so much, awesome find.

Can you use any of these with an upgrade key?
-
has anyone actually done a full and complete install with this. I got halfway through the install and it said it was missing files. the download was win 7 prof x64 link. my download was a little over 3 gigs but the install failed. extremely annoying.
-
Which files were missing?
I have used the Ultimate 64, and Swedish Pro 32, both worked flawlessly.
Update September 19: There's nothing wrong with the Pro 64 ISO, I'm posting this on a fresh install. -
it didnt say which files were missing. it was at the part when it was unpacking files and it got about 70% of the way through then a error message popped up and said unable to continue due to missing files. your partial install will not be saved.
my downloaded iso is 3.32gb -
I would again download the version you need and make sure you use a download manager if you are not. If this does not work you can go to the legal windows 7 downloads thread. They do not have service pack 1 but I know they work. http://forum.notebookreview.com/windows-os-software/428068-legal-windows-7-download-links-just-like-vista-before.html
-
I just downloaded it again. its size was the same. 3.32 well im not going to burn another disk right now. i do have a working windows disk from the old thread i really wanted a working one with service pack one though. it takes over an hour just to do all the updates maybe longer without it.
-
I have a working disk also. I don't mind doing the updates. I put a trial on my computer and after making sure it worked alright purchased a copy. I have a trial going on another laptop and will purchase a copy for it within the next couple of months. I have rearmed it once so far.
-
Well, you were supposed to check afterwards the hash to make sure your download matches. The first post info contains both a SHA1 and CRC32 hash ... best to compare with the SHA1 hash.
Even with or without a download manager, the odds of the downloaded file being corrupted gets exponentially higher as the the file size, time to completion increases, ... whole bunch of other things -
It's been years since I burned a DVD, I always use a USB drive.
Update: There's nothing wrong with the Pro 64 ISO, I'm posting this from a fresh install. -
alvinkhorfire Notebook Consultant
If some of you really insist in burning the Windows image into a DVD, it would be better to burn to a DVD-RW. If there is anything wrong with the installation, just erase the disc and try again. Once you are statisfied with the outcome, then you can proceed to burn it to a DVD-R.
-
Quick question guys.. I have an OEM installed on my laptop and now I want to use an SSD.. I don't want to create a system image so I want to do a fresh install.. if I use these links would I be able to activate using the product key that I retrieved from my Windows? I bought the laptop with Windows 7 but it originally had vista on it..so the sticker at the bottom is for vista
