I think the download iso's have fallen on tough times,,I checked my backup drive and lo and behold, I found X17-59463,,Win7sp1 Ultimate,Digital River download I click on it and a dialogue box appears to burn the iso to disk. I downloaded this years ago. I just sold my win 7 Lenovo G530-Samsung SSD 470, 2x4gb Ram and upgraded the CPU from Intel T3400 to T6500-Retail version Win 7(upgrade 32 and 64 disks) and now I have a Lenovo R61i ThinkPad( a gift and backup Notebook),,I bought win 7 disks 32 and 64 bit-full version(see my post on it), running X64 and moving the CPU up from T2390 to T8100 , possible T9500 later.... :)

    Side notes:

Ne 1 see the pic of Bill Gates Playing the World Chess Champion,,he lost in 7 moves,,I think he needs to study opening moves- by Eugene Znosko-Borovsky, middle game-Ruben Fine, and end game theory, and of course read Paul Keres-Think like a Grandmaster..

DELL Brothers Larry and Michael,,,Dell got started on very small machine-Basic Computer Language with Key Board Command words to write graphic and other programs,I had a timex-sinclair basic machine-ran thru the TV as monitor, mine came with a modem that incert the telephone hand set in,,I had a package to store programs to 3rd party site doing program storage in Reston Virginia for a fee of $10-15 a month Cheers

    Cheers

No SP2 according to Paul Thurrott, he asked MS representatives not too long ago. I don't have a link for it, but I believe it.
MS rarely makes a new SP for a Windows version that already have been succeeded these days, the exception was XP SP3 for obvious reasons.

    Thanks. That's what I've gathered.

Getting ready today to put in another Samsung 840 Pro; Wishful hoping that maybe there would be some saving grace, though as things go these days I should just be grateful for what is there.

With the popularity of W7, maybe later they will break but I'm not holding my breath for it.

This rapid succession of OS releases model definitely comes with constraints.

    Pushing forward :)

Considering how the Windows 8 debacle has been going down hill...it might be more a incentive for them to release a Windows 7 SP2 to keep themselves from killing their own Windows O/S.

There has to be a genius in this forum who can create SP2 for Win7!! I recently did a clean 7 SP1 install and it required 99 updates --- WHEW!

    Thanks a lot KLF!

You can use WDS/WAIK to create an install disc of the update files. Don't ask how, I haven't done it but my friend has :D I've only used WDS/WAIK to drop images on PC's.

Trust me your not the only one doing this when I reinstall my own Windows 7x64 Ult Sp1 and then manually installing the updates again....almost takes a good part of the day to properly do this without messing something up along the way. I don't trust MS windows update to hog my bandwidth to do this....I download all the updates offline and then install it to make sure everything works.

Do you know if those updates have to be installed sequentially? In a certain order?

No, Microsoft tech account for a large fee probably have the iso's.

There is a guy who actually created service pack for win 98 2nd edition, made it so you install more ram and several other fixes.

I just went thru this as well on my spare Lenovo ThinkPad,Windows 7 SP1 x64 Full, imagine if SP1 was not integrated,, another 180 updates or so.

Edit on 1st Post Merom Board-ThinkPad,,Middletons Patch does not correct thermal error or anything else, thus No Penryns for this one,, My G530 I sold, I went from T3400 (Merom) to T6500(new $10)Penryn, Lenovo patched this Bios to do both Merom and Penryn..

    Cheers
