I just did a clean install of a Lenovo X201, it was so easy, thanks to ThinkVantage that takes care of all the drivers automatically, who on earth hasn't the competition something similar? I would like to see the same for the other brands I work with: Dell, HP and Sony.
Any thoughts?

there's this program that you can dl off the internet that checks for the latest drivers for all your devices and links you to them, from my experience, it is VERY up to date, i really wonder if someone at that company just vigorously refreshes the driver webpages of the companies that make the devices

Really? What the URL? Does it really find all the needed drivers and install them automatically?
-
i can't find the one that i'm thinking of, but after googling around i found radarsync, seems like the best free one out there

How's the X201? My X200 is fantastic. -
oh, and chances are that the majority, if not all, do not automatically install the updated drivers, just provide links to them
and for those that may install automatically, chances are that they aren't free -
The X201 is great, fantastic performance from such a small laptop.

I generally like to do a clean install and manually install the most recent drivers. Just my preference.
Other times I will make an image of my HDD after I get it all set up they way I want. Now THAT cuts down time! -
sometimes i wonder if trueimage copies an image exactly, i remember checking how much space was occupied on the C drive before and after reverting to an image, and they were different sizes

you'd probably get more help if it was posted in the lenovo sub-forum.
Lenovo ThinkVantage is fantastic, but...
