Huh, interesting. Doesn't really affect me much though...I stopped using Limewire long ago. I really don't like it anymore. Every search you make results with "Steven Spielberg gets a hilarious prank phone call!" type files, which are most likely infested with spyware.

Well, we saw what happened to napster. Is it gonna work? I think not. Torrents, on the other hand already are legit. I've gotten both the original install and the expansion of silkroad (free mmorpg) through the companies own torrent and Ahead distributes nerp Trials and re-downloads of registered products through torrents.

Yeah, poor napster. I don't use limewire. Just torrents. Has anyone heard of Frostwire? It's just like Limewire.

Meh Torrents for me. Torrents are more secure(in the sense that it's harder to track and masks the information transfers) and faster.

Yeah and most torrent sites, especially torrentspy.com have a large commenting community so your warned beforehand if there are any viruses in the torrent.

I read about Frostwire in the great thread on free software for windows, right here on this board. I immediately uninstalled Limewire and installed Frostwire. Its basically the same thing, but physically it takes up less space on your HDD.

Limewire is a legit program, it's the users that decides what to share. Limewire won a case because of this.

"well the Gun helps. I just think just standing there going, "Bang!" That's not going to kill too many people, is it? You'd have to be really dodgy on the heart to have that… ( imitates gunfire noises ) I think they should just try that, you know."

No! As someone who has been living in the US watching guns kill about 500 people a year in my city alone. If it was not so sad it might be funny! In the US I think over 10,000 are killed, in Europe in total I think under 1,000 Anyway back to Lime Wire!

Back to the subject of torrents and LimeWire...

If you want to download one song, you're not actually going to look on a torrent site, are you?

Agree with that torrents aren't great for music. With p2p clients its booom it starts up automatically and I have the song downloaded in 30 sec. With torrents its gotta verify the tracker and miscellaneous other tasks that take a min to startup before you can actually start downloading. Torrents are great for everything else tho and p2p can't stand up to it there.

Well sometimes with torrents you can select a whole album and if it's not a compressed zip or rar file, you can just uncheck the songs you don't want.
But YES, P2P is still faster at downloading single songs.
