I am not going to count on the ability to play alot of games on my laptop, so I have been considering putting Linux onto the laptop I wish to purchase... I am not a linux GURU but I can work my way through it... Anyone have any suggestions on a Distro that works well on laptops with support for bluetooth and WiFi?

I tried Knoppix on my existing laptop, (Gateway Solo 1150... You can stop laughing I didn't pay for this piece of crap)

I currently use a Netgear wireless b/g adapter and had no luck with Knoppix and from what I understand Knoppix has some of the best driver support avaliable in Linux.

I am just looking for something different and have been considering Linux as a possible alternative, but with so many different Distro's out there I am a bit overwhelmed.

    Any thoughts?

    Hello,

I have installed on my Asus M6Ne laptop Suse Linux 9.2. It works realy well with the wireless lan. I don't have bluetooth so I can't tell you about bluetooth support.

    I will recomand Suse 9.2.

Thank you for your recomendation, I recently installed SUSE 9.2 on one of my desktops to test it out, and that is the exact OS that I was thinking about running on the laptop! looks like I made a good Choice, can't beat YaST for system configuration!

Suggestion, I use ubuntu and Linspire 4.5 live distro's , I also use PCMCIA card from Belkin for wireless and they pick up very easily. Laptop just boots and sees the network, Actually, the Laptop I just received for free, I used Ubuntu to grab information and files from hard drive due to the Blue Screen of Death.
    Good Luck

Isnt' today the day after yesterday and the day before tommorrow?
