    Hey everyone,

I'm a college student, and I basically live on my laptop in class, but its too underpowered in my dorm room, where i use my desktop. Space is not really an issue, since its mostly school work (500mb Max) with maybe the random mp3 or photo. We have wifi everywhere, so its basically an always connected pc/laptop. No mac/mobile phone. I haven't played around with it too much, so I would greatly appreciate user inputs on these 2 services.

    Thanks!

hmm AFAIK Live Mesh is in Closed Beta Stage and and so DropBox would be a nice service to use ... or Try FolderShare from MS

i have used live mesh. its easy to set-up and quite reliable. you basically install live mesh clients on both computers that you have and files that you share from your desktop pc will even set up a link to the share in your laptop's desktop.not to mention that remote desktop is also set up for you by live mesh.

    Thanks everyone,

I read using cg123 link that live mesh is a lot more complicated, but allows remote desktop, etc. Additionally, they say the online interface is horrible. Is it really that bad for you guy's experiences?

live mesh isnt complicated, at least thats what my experience is. i just installed the client and then right click folders i want to share and they do just that. the web interface resembles windows explorer with a pseudo-aero appearance. and yes, it does have remote desktop that maybe useful in some situations.

    in short

    +1 for live mesh.

I used foldershare for a while and recently switched to drop box. I have two Macs and a Windows XP desktop that I run the client and drop box keeps those folders completely in sync, plus the files are available up on the web from a non-client machine using a password which is why I switched off of foldershare.

I have not got into the live mesh beta yet so I can't comment. I'm interested to see how that goes.
