Alright guys, I got a free year of LoJack when I bought my Dell XPS M1330. I wasn't interested in renewing it, until I received a suspicious email from "My Laptop" which I just couldn't resist replying to. Funnier yet, the laptop replied back...Enjoy!
Original Email from "My Laptop"
Dear Brendrek,
It's me - your laptop. Thank you for using LoJack® for Laptops by Absolute® Software to keep me safe and sound. It's been great to relax and enjoy our life together...all the music we've downloaded...the trips we've taken...photos of friends and family.
But I'm starting to get nervous. Our LoJack for Laptops subscription expires today. Then what? If I'm one of the hundreds of laptops stolen each day how would you get me back? I wouldn't be able to put up much of a fight...all I'd have is a password. And within no time they'd be all over me...our photos, our music, all of our personal and financial information. Your identity could be stolen and we would never see each other again.
So please renew our subscription! I want to get back to the great life we share without worrying about the future.
Your Laptop.
My Reply:
Dear Laptop,
It has been quite the year. I was so excited when we first met. You were so sleek and fast, and your operating system was so pretty. However, the romance wore off quickly when you started crashing on me. I know it wasn't all your fault, and Service Pack 1 did improve things. But just when I thought "we" were back to normal, your GPU fried and a Dell tech had to replace your motherboard. Actually, I have a confession to make. I've been cheating on you with my netbook since last October. It's just, you've put on so much weight since the battery change. I'm embarrased to be seen with you in public. I'm not really worried about you being stolen. You never leave the house!
Brendrek
Laptop Responds:
Dear Brendrek,
Youve been cheating on me for the last 5 months? But weve been through so much the crashes, the fried GPU, the new motherboard I thought we were in this together in sickness and in health, in good times and in bad. I guess I was wrong.
While Im hurt that you no longer love me, I still care about you and want whats best for you even if that means supporting HER! You can renew your LoJack subscription on me and then transfer the license to her. So shell be protected from theft when you take her out and show her off and leave me at home by myself.
You can find more information on transferring licenses here third question down. Im sorry things didnt work out between us.

It wasn't someone from Dell, it was from Lojack. The reply address was [email protected]
