    Is it possible in Vista to lock a drive letter (say F) to one particular drive no matter what? Even in the event the drive gets disconnected or switched off etc.?

    Or at least better ways to ensure the drive letter stays as you want it?

    im not sure if it goes with the identifier of the drive tho. cause drive letters are assigned in order of plug in prob. you can try and report back

    USB Drive Letter Manager

    with a config like this:
    Code:
    [DriveLetters1]
    VolumeLabel1=YOUR_VOLUME_LABEL_HERE
    Letter1=F

    [DriveLetters]
    Letters=G-Z

    Give that drive a unique volume label and modify the 'VolumeLabel1' line accordingly.
