Anyone else experiencing trouble installing LogMeIn Free? I'm getting errors about it not being able to create a directory in (or create the actual directory not sure) "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu".

I had this working on my old W7 installation that I just recently blew away. The new installer seems to not be working.

Could the issue be with permissions for installing that that folder Greg? If not, try this solution I found:

    Go to the following website:
    https://secure.logmein.com/logmein.zip
    and download the file.
Next, create a folder in the C:/ drive called lmi. Then open the LogMeIn.zip file and extract it to the lmi folder. Next, go to Start, then Run, and type cmd (Windows 98/ME should type command).
    At the command prompt, type
    cd C:\lmi (hit enter)
    logmein install (hit enter)
You will then receive a message that install was successful. Close the command prompt window and click "Open LogMeIn" on the message that appears, and follow the steps to assign the computer to your LogMeIn account.

I don't know why, but you were right on the head that the file permissions weren't right. For some reason I was too pre-occupied to catch that one.

A bunch of folders and files in C:\ProgramData were set to the wrong permissions. IDK.

    Thanks!

No problem! Seems like a large chunk of installation issues are permissions not being set, so I had to get that out of the way. Have fun. :)
