My Lenovo Thinkpad X200s uses Windows XP Pro. It has two problems involving the power (I use it at home with AC power, not battery):

    a) Recently, after going standby mode, when I needed to wake it up, it takes an unusually long time, more than 1 minute, to come out of the standby mode.

    b) Since a long time ago (not aware when it started), the power options that I had set seem not to be working. E.g. I had set the machine to go standby and to turn off hard disk after 15 min being idle, but after hours (sometimes I was out all day expecting to come back to find its hard disk off), the machine was still on (video downloading apparently went on for a long time), not even in standby mode.

    What could be the problem?

Thanks in advance for any help! :)

Following an advice from Lenovo forum, I downloaded the updated power manager and its driver, now the "a)" is solved. Waking up from standby doesn't take too long now. However, the timed standby still not working. Must manually let it go standby.

    Any tips will be appreciated!
