Sorry my friend, you need to install Linux for that. I'm pretty sure there are some programs for Windows but they're just cheap knockoffs, you'll never get the real thing or even close to it. It's Compiz, read about it.

Hmm well since I've been looking at Linux anyways this might just push me over the edge seeing as it is freakin awesome!

So since I need Linux for the real thing what version of Linux would you suggest?

Version eh? I'll think about that when I'm updating my guide tomorrow. My Linux Switcher's Guide explains everything you need to know, post a question there if you need more info. Compiz is amazing indeed, you will love the real thing. Also, if you really want to be on the edge, Compiz-Fusion (unstable version with blazing new effects) will make your eyes bleed.

Theres an Windows equivalent of Compiz-fusion. Though it will never beat the advanced effects on ubuntu.

flip, is there something wrong with the tags? Has the way they're used been changed or am I screwing something up and too dumb to realize it after over three years? LOL

vBulletin glitch, its missing the "<" tag.

Nothing much we can do at the moment till the Admins step in. Just ignore it for now.

But I think he'll love Ubuntu with or without the Cube - and no AV, anti-this, anti-that . . . etc. Should he ever actually need Windows, dual-booting allows easy access, no matter how sad it will be to switch back. LOL

I'm afraid to say compiz is alot better. Using 3d cubes on windows, sorta slows down your computer, whereas in my experience of compiz, the cube doesn't affect performance in any way. If you're a bit of a linux noob, i'd advise you to go with linx mint, as it has compiz, preinstalled.

Well i got deskspace or something like that for windows its just a trial but I wanted something to do while I wait for Unbuntu to download.

It is a pretty cool program I guess I'll just wait until I get Linux set up and I can compare the 2.

How about CubeDesktop? I am using it right now and it is fast. It also uses just 50MB on my machine.

It looks nice but you have to pay for it, Compiz-Fusion is free.
