I am in the process to buy either a m17x or XPS 1730, but since I have only 15 days (EUROPE Policy) to return my system I would like to FULLY OVER TEST my system.
In that way I can try to minimize the BAD SURPRISES![]()
Does any one know if there is any DOC or HOWTO overtest your system?

run 3dmarkvantage for 12 hours or so while your sleeping... play Crysis for afue days strait at like 8hour+ game sessions... raid Sunwell in World of warcraft with a billion ui mods?/
unless your going to like solve the mathematical wonders of the universe i would just play alot of high end games on it.. and test all the ports... move it around it open and close the lid alot... test battery etc..
my advice is just dont get the x9000 which is a waste of money any way.. get the 2.5 and clock it up if u want speeds like it this way u will get no downclocking stock on the CPU... beside that all the issues your going to run into are case ones now/preference/feel/sound of laptop in the hands etc.. from what people are saying.
you could always wait for a actual review of the m17x to come out however.... that would be the smart thing to do. -
First thing you should check is maximum temperatures. You dont want an overheating/downclocking gaming machine. Play the most intensive games you can. Run stress tests on CPU/GPU.
Use HWmonitor to keep an eye on peak temps.
