May anyone please link/refer me to guides (topics) around the forums (or to other websites) about tweaking laptop without replacing hardware? In other words guides that make my current laptop run as best as it can without physically replacing anything but it can change how the hardware function.
e.g. The "Undervolting" Guide
OPTIONAL: Please link/refer me guides about keeping laptops in top health.
I am terrible at navigating and searching so please understand. If something doesn't make sense please reply.

would help if you told everyone what model laptop you have and what specification it has ie cpu/gpu/hdd/ram etc

If it were me, for best results, I would:
Do a fresh install of the operating system so that I have a clean install with no bloatware or programs that aren't needed.
Follow Black viper's guide to shutting off non-essential windows services to lessen the load on your laptop.
Other than that, if you don't want to re-install your operating system, I would:
Install Malwarebytes (free version), boot into "safe mode with networking" and do a full scan for malware.
Go into the control panel / programs and remove any programs you don't need or use anymore.
Follow some "msconfig" guides to kill any startup programs that are not need and eating resources.
to expand on the last item I recommend using ccleaner. they have "tools" tab that will show you what is starting up with your computer and allow you to disable stuff. you may have to research/google each item so you don't turn off something important, but mostly you want to turn off crap like Adobe speed launch, quicktime, and anything else that is not needed.Follow Black Viper's guide from above to disable non-essential services.
there is also a tab to help you remove unwanted programs.
and another tab to clean up the registry. run that a couple times.
Do all your critical windows updates.
update flash player at http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
Use a smaller resource anti-virus like MSE
just my opinion, but its a start. -

Here's one from NBR: Windows PC Optimization Guide
And here is a utility that I've found useful: Download TCP Optimizer 3.0.8 Free - Optimize Dialup, DSL and Cable all from one interface - Softpedia. That will allow you to set the optimum network and registry settings, which should allow you better network performance. It doesn't require an install either; just download it and run it (though it will help to know your internet's service speed from your provider to make the changes). -
First post updated with example of a guide.
I think I have switchable graphic because i see 2 drivers under display adapter in device manager. How do I switch it? Is there some sort of guide to configure NVIDIA CP?
