Right now im on an asus g1s with a hot gpu. the cpu stays quite cool, around 55c idle. the gpu on the other hand is around 90c idle.
I noticed when the cpu heats up, the fan blows harder, and when the fan blows hard, the gpu temps go down a good 5-10c.
what i need is a software that, thru windows, gives me direct control of my cpu fan so i keep that thing on high.
thanks!

I can help you modify the dsdt in your registry. This may give you access to the fan code, so you can set whatever speeds you want.
But before we go ahead with that, you may want to try a program called speedfan. -
I tried speedfan but didn't see any options for fan control =(
-
Speedfan does allow you to change fan speeds, thus the title, so something is up on your end. Check your bios, I know Asus has an option to enable/disable fan control on some desktop motherboards, perhaps it's the same on your notebook.
-
Under configure -> fans, right?
I go there but it doesn't detect anything
Hopefully im looking in the wrong place =p -
Not sure, I don't have an Asus.. I do remember the option was either enabled or disabled.. Maybe try the Asus forum?
-
as far as i know, the bios usually control the fans on a laptop so they cant be changed, unless the manufactor made it possible (like Dell)
-
Yes I'd also like to know about fan control for my Asus. =o would be nice is SpeedFan worked
My fan has 4 wires but still no control over it.

Like I said, if anyone wants to try the dsdt mod, shoot me a PM.
