Does anyone have any suggestions of what software i could use that could possibly put some sort of list on my desktop that has reminders on it? I hope you understand what i mean, lol. Oh and if it is free, that would be great!

Gmail has a calender and task list.
The calendar has reminders you can set.

I use hottnotes on my work computer to keep track of things I have to do right away. I use windows notepad for lists of things to do on projects.

I use treepad on both computers to keep more extensive lists. I like the tree-oriented view, sort of like windows explorer. It could be used for simple lists but can also be used for elaborate lists with additional information added to each list item. I have a similar program I bought called trenotes that I use on my windows-mobile phone and it comes with a desktop version that will share the same data files. If you search the net for freeware you can probably find other similar programs.

I use Yahoo Calendar and am very happy with it. It is very configurable, and you can have several different types of reminders. And it's free.

The best I've used is Swift To-Do List. They have a free Lite version that should be more than enough for you. Very simple, intuitive and a clean interface.
