Don't know if this counts as "security," I am trying to find a program that will block and pseudo-pornographic stuff specifically on the internet without hogging resources as this is my gaming machine. It doesnt need to block instant messaging or torrents or similar programs, just the internet.

i heard great things about k-9 web protection but i have vista 64-bit which is incompatible. I havent been able to find anything else that seems good in terms of quality and not costing a lot.

Firefox (with built in pop-up blocker) + Adblock + NoScipt should do the trick.

huh. i never thought of that, is there a setting somewhere to make adblock block ?

actually, it would not be very hard to circumvent that... just open up internet explorer. unless you can uninstall internet explorer...is that even possible?

If your running Vista Home Premium or Ultimate, just activate Parental Controls and turn on Web Filtering. :)

Otherwise, check out Windows Live Family Safety :)

Is this for yourself? If so, why not just use your own sense of self-restraint; that seems the cheapest alternative. :D

Its not really uninstalling more like deleting but I have. I know because you have to delete folders that pop-up the "you do not have permission to do that" box lol
