Could I get some comment on your experience with the various screen capture programs mentioned in the "best software" thread? Really only want it to capture images on the monitor at this time, but maybe work with video in the future. I am not asking for a consensus on "the best", just how you found them to be useful or not. Thanks

I use PrintScreen, and Windows Paint (when I'm using Windows). Never wanted to try capturing video, but screencap programs are usually a different beast from vidcap programs.

I haven't looked at the thread you mentioned but , I use screenhunter. I really like it. The options are great. You can take a screenshot of the whole screen, a part of the screen, time delayed shots saved to specific folders and can include the mouse pointer or not. Pretty cool.

PrintScreen+Paste (into Paint or PhotoShop) or the SnippingTool in Vista works for me.

Snagit and Corel Capture are great for capturing whole screens, active windows, or parts of screens.
