I know there are tons out there BUT I cant seem to find a CPU monitoring tool that will work like GPUZ where I can tell it to log the MAX % usage and not just the current. I am want to find where the bottle neck in my system really.
Some help please?

Hwinfo32 does exactly what your looking for.
-
I dont see where it logs my max cpu usage in that. Im trying to see if my CPU or GPU is the weakest link.
Nevermind. Found it. Thanks!!! This program is pretty awesome. Does it take a lot of resourses when running in back ground? -
Easist way to find out is go to task manager and click on processes to see how much memory its using.
-
On another note Ya know of a good memory tester?
-
Sorry, I can't help you there. Contact the memory Master...Johnksss.

doubt memory will be a bottleneck for games if you have more than 4 gigs. Almost no games can use more than 4 gigs.

Well playing WOT and it says core 0 useage at 100% max so I guess its my CPU bottle neck in this case since the game only supports single core usage for some stupid reason.
GPU core load at 73% max which is higher than I thought using a 680M....
-
bigtonyman Desktop Powa!!!
Most games run on a single core, and the CPU will upclock that one core for intense usage (also called turbo boost). What CPU you have? my 2630qm plays WoT's at 60fps just fine.
-
83% on the second round playing. This game dont have the best graphics and it uses tons of hardware to run at highest settings. This game is optimized for crap lol. They need to work n thier coding I guess.
Awesome game though and the beast still takes it very well
Just seems that WOT uses more than BF3 and..... BF3 graphics > WOT graphics BY FAR.
And now GPU core load read 99%. Is it normal for a game like WOT to use 99% of a 680M? -

whats the 680m clockspeed when playing WoT and is it different from when you play bf3? I personally wouldn't be to worried about it if your getting 60fps.
-
Tyxpx, just because it showed a 99% usage does not mean there is a bottleneck, it simply could of been a spike during a game session. You need to find out the average clock speed, then you will have your true values, does that make sense? (ex: 70 plus 65 plus 86 divided by 3 equals 73.6)

Ill check those out today when I get a chance.
Under the "QDF" in this software is has my CPU as a QCF5 (QS) does this mean I have a quality sample and not a OEM retail chip???? -
also, is there a way to make this average the cpu usage?
-
tyxpx, if you don't already have it download "Intel extreme tuning utility" There is monitoring on there which will tell you the average usage over 1hr period or as little as 1min, plus a bunch of other great features.

I dont have a XM CPU and it wont let me install that nor can I find the right utilities monitor on the intel site....
-
how did i miss this thread.
all the monitoring software you will need can be found in my signature below -
You do not need a Xm chip for the software, I am assuming you are on a R3... Please add your configuration to your signature block so we all can best match your needs in the future.
-
I have a m18x r2
-
You can defintiely install XTU on a non xm system or it wouldn't be running on my M6700.
-
I tried and it said it wasnt compatible?
-
What version are you trying to install? Have you tried all three?
-
can you link me to the right one? See sig.

average core clock of BF3: 680.8mhz \ average memory clock: 809.6mhz
average core clock of WOT: 736.4 \ average memory clock: 882.2mhz
On a side note the max memory used on BF3 was 1681! I see many games going past the 2GB mark in the very near future.
From the looks of the CPU use it looked like BF3 supports multi core. MUCH more of the other cores were used when playing BF3 compared to WOT which I know dont support multi core.
Looking for monitoring software....
