well, i had a computer problem, but luckily got it all solved, without any real damage, except i lost everything onm my hard drive....

well, there was nothing there i couldnt get back that i needed, as documents i have saved on my Gmail storage. and most of the software i rely on is freeware.

but i lost all my music...

i have it on my iPod, but i know i cant put it back onto my harddrive as it is. i have used my ipod as a mass storage device when transfering my music to a new computer.

My brother said he had a similar problem, puting music from his iPod to computer, and used some program to get his music back, but it wasnt legal, so i dont want to use it if i can avoid it.

**skip to here if you dont want to read it all**

how can i get the music on my iPod back onto my computer?

    THANKS!!!

Have you tried recovering any of the files you lost?

There are a lot of data recovery tools in this thread:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=206289

    I personally recomend:

    TestDisk

It recovered files I lost over a year ago without any problems.

EDIT: I emailed iTunes once regarding some lost files. The response was excellent and they provided me the ability to redownload everything I purchased.

You can use sharepod, which allows you to view all the music on your ipod and rip it to a computer...
