Basically what happens is everytime I open up Internet Explorer (version 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2), it no longer works. It opens up VERY, VERY slowly before completely freezing my computer and locking it up (not even CTRL-ALT-DEL works after that). After what seems like an eternity, a pop-up warning box comes up which says something to the effect of "Low Virtual Memory -- some requests/applications may not work".
Now, NOTHING on my computer (and I mean NOTHING) has changed...I have not added, deleted any program (or even file). I've done virus scans (with AVG scanner and Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition -- all updated to latest virus definitions) and nothing has shown up. I haven't EVER had this problem before, so it's really bugging the heck out of me because my computer bogs down everytime I open up IE and eventually freezes it. I know that I have more than enough RAM, because in the rare occassion that CTRL-ALT-DEL does work, only something like 300MB (out of 512MB) is being used.
Any help (and I mean ANY) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

well, it seems there is something wrong with the internet explore code. i have no idead how to fix what you have but you could try and download IE 7 beta 3 or FireFox. i use fire fox and it is faster than internet explorer and it is free!!! i have used the IE beta 2 and i did not like it at all and that's the reason i went to firefox...
if this just started try to reset your system to a previous point using system tools Start > All Programs > accessories > system tools > system restore.
if you decide to go this route select a date that is before when the problem started. then follow the directions. this can fix many problems but some times it undo's Mcfee virus protection updates and forces to reinstall, ( which is often better than a computer crash)
also CAN undo any of the changes if it doesn't work
good luck!!!! -
IE is sub par for browsers. You can reinstall the browser which may help - a file may have been corrupted.
I recommend Opera or Mozilla's Firefox browser.
Low Virtual Memory (from IE?) crashes PC :\
