Windows seems to think I'm low on memory whenever I play games. It crashes them to desktop and says to prevent info loss I should manually force close them. This is even though I have 8GB of system RAM with plenty still available and also plenty of virtual memory set for the paging file (>4GB). What's going on here? Why is Windows attempting to close my games when there's plenty of memory in my system still available?

I get the same with Boarderlands 2 and i have 8gb on Win 8.1 and keep getting the low memory message, the only fix i have found is to use the MiniMem app below and add the game to the working app list.

I used to get that when I disable the page file even though I had 32 GB of RAM. that's when I learned never to tinker with the page file. But if you're saying you have 4+ GB pagefile, it's strange, I suggest setting the pagefile to SYSTEM managed size and see if it fixes your problem
Low on memory error message... on a system with plenty of RAM?
