What's so great about it? What will be improved? Do the advantages outweigh the price and reinstalling an OS? Please explain. I also here a lot of talk about Aero, what's this?

I did make sure my computer was compatable before I bought it, but I don't know if I really needed to spend the extra money, if all I was going to use it for is vista(although I did need the more expensive stuff, but this is a question for my brother).

Thanks to all that help, in advance,
    Tokuman

Pay particular attention to Paul Thorrott's five-part Vista review on winsupersite.com. Part five is a huge eye opener, and anyone hoping for a great new operating system will view Vista in a whole new light after reading it.

Just know that there have been no "official" requirements released for Vista. Anything that people say is required to run the OS is speculation. Most of it, however, is common sense because of the software included (Aero GUI). Microsoft is really putting this off.

I'm pretty sure all the links I provided talk about Aero. If they don't, please let me know so I can edit my original post.

Well Zack, since M$ has recently decided it has to rewrite the entire Vista OS because they viewed it as a piece of junk, specific requirements are going to have to wait. The general requirements have been known for some time, and most center around the Aero crystal (3D, transluscent) interface. So far, the most significant requirement is a state-of-the-art graphics adapter.
