    MCE for XP, how do i disable messenger

    ok, i dropped the messenger service cuz i nvr really used it, How do I disable Media center from trying to access messenger, note: disabling messenger use in wmp 11 would probably solve this, what do I click on and do?

    Your question is bit unclear. The Windows service : Messenger is actually a network notification system based on NetBIOS protocol, it has nothing to do with the MSN messenger (if that is what you are thinking).

    If not, then I don’t think the NetBIOS messenger service has any connection to WMP11 :confused: .

    Am I reading you wrong ?

    I sign into media center and it stalls and i get the message: MESSENGER FAILURE. It happens when I enter my music, it trys looking things up i think, I dont need it to. Media center was unable to open windows messenger, plz make sure windows messenger is installed on ur system, the message says. After I click ok, it works fine.
