Strange. MCE is based on pro, but it should still say media center edition.
When you go to control panel > system does it say pro, or MCE?

    Please don’t make duplicate threads.

As iza said, MCE is based on Pro. But still it is a different edition. Does it say Professional even after installing? In the boot screen and in the System properties > General tab? If it does, and if it has all the features of Pro (domain support, terminal server etc..) then consider yourself lucky; because you’ve got Pro for the price of MCE. If it doesn’t, then there is nothing to be surprised of; since MCE is actually a restricted version of Pro, maybe MS forgot to customize the installer UI.

Yes, MS didn't change the installation screen. If it says MCE under system properties, then it's MCE.
