Hi,
how can I convert MP3s to a normal CD Audio file so that I can burn them on a CD and play them on a commone CD Player? And does the speed of the MP3 file have to be at leat 192kb/s as it is in most CD Audio files? Most of my MP3s are 128kb/s.
Is there a free software I should use? Thanks.
And, since I haven't checked it out yet, does a normal CD player support wma files?

There are a number of ways to do this.
The easiest is to use Nero burning or what ever burning software came with your burner. Select audio CD and drag the mp3 or wma files across. Nero will take care of the conversion. Just make sure you finalise the cd and only burn in one session, as normal cd players don't generally like multisession cds.
You can also try musicmatch jukebox cd burning feature which works well.
Alternately you can encode the mp3/wma into .wav files which are the standard cd audio file, dbpoweramp is a good free program that you can use to do this. Then use a burning program to create your audio cd

They also have a new program for burning audio cds too.
The bit rate doesn't matter for burning audio cds. Although the higher the bit rate the better sounding the cd will be of course.
I personally use 128 wma's as for me this is a good balance of quality/file size.
Good luck

Also, if you are running windows XP you can use windows media player 9 to burn cds.

The format for standard audio CD's is AIFF.
Any number of programs can be used to create the disc...MusicMatch, iTunes, one of the CD burning utilities, etc. -
OK, so, to make things easier, this is what I want to do:
Burn .mp3's and .wma's (which I have in WMP9) onto a CD which would play in any normal CD player and get a good sound quality.
there are several ways, as I have understood. A few of them are:
1. Using itunes: convert MP3s into AIFFs and burn them. However, the size seems to be pretty damn big (40 MB for one song). Another problem is that since I have most songs in .wma format, I tunes won't play it or even recognize it. I could also convert them into .wav files, but don't know about their quality.
2. Using WMP: The only problem is that I don't know whether it modifies the format of the file when burning. If not, then there is not much sense in burnig MP3s (Does a normal player accept .wma files???)
3. Please help
thanks.

You don't have to convert them iTunes or whatever you use to burn them will do that automatically. You can use windows media player as it will recognize both mp3 and wma. 40mb for a song is not that big either. Thats why cds have 2 things written on them 80minutes and 700mb. 700mb of data and 80minutes worth of music. Also, you could use either Nero or Easy Cd creator to make a music cd and build it that way.
