So over the years I've collected a quite a library of songs (>25,000), which I never really sorted out and put them in order. Now it's quite a pain to go through each of them so I'm wondering if there is any software that will help you do that. Say deleting the duplicates or songs with the same content...

I tried a couple of them that I found but nothing really effective.

    Any suggestion is appreciated

    Thanks

What I use is j.River Media Center.

There's a free audio-only version which is based on an old version of Media Center but still very powerful - you could start with that, and see later if Media Center has any additional features you need (since it's $50).

    Free Media Jukebox: http://www.mediajukebox.com/
    Pay-for Media Center (30-day trial): http://www.jrmediacenter.com/

Do some reading up on the Smartlist feature - it's a bit like Apple's to start with, but SIGNIFICANTLY more powerful in scope - and will help in duplication removal, etc.

Winamp? Naw, only if youre using it as your player.. your should try its Media Library, it has great overview.
And you can change and link files real easy. I.e select all the files that belong to a specific album and change
their album value just with one click or two. Same goes for artist.

( wont actualy change file name, just how Winamp displays the names)

You can try it for free, and if youre hooked just like me you can PM
me for further details. I think it was the most used mp3 program in Europe, been along for quite some time now.

    Trying out media Jukebox.

@Ramzii: Don't I have to do that manually though? It's quite a pain.

    Thanks for the recommendations guys.

Foobar2000, Media Money, or Mp3tag are the only best options.

Try windows media center or windows media player. Windows media center is very similar to zune software which has totally pimped out UI + file organization.

since i use iTunes, all my mess is solved.
and yeah, media center can handle the folders of itunes very well by now, so does wmp.

the best thing, though, is to drop all music and start fresh, collecting only what you actually DO listen to :) from some 100gb of music down to about 7 right now.. :) (say hi, ssd... :))
