So yeah, been having a problem with this recently and can't find a fix.

When I try to play a video it works all the way, but when I try to play a subbed anime, the OP/ED Lags and the audio doesn't work well (blank parts)

I confirmed that the file is OK, because when I tried to play it with VLC, the OP/ED works fine.

EDIT: With SAO (downloaded from UTW) the OP works

Anybody have this problem and know how to fix it?

    Fixes I tried

-Uninstall MPC-HC with revo uninstaller and reinstall it
-Set optimus to use GT 630M when playing MPC-HC
    -System/registry clean with auslogics boostspeed

    ^ none worked

I'm trying to remember the settings of CCCP. (I use MPC with MadVR as the renderer, Haali as the splitter, and FFDShow as the audio renderer; looks a bit better than CCCP, picture-quality wise, especially with 10bit.).

Hmm. If I remember right CCCP uses FFDshow as the video filter and subtitle renderer. Try messing with the settings a little bit. If that doesn't work, try to disable it and use MPC's built-in sub renderer.

EDIT: Forgot to ask: Does this happen with all files with subs, or just one particular series. If only this particular show, does it use weird fonts and karaoke effects?

I'm using FFDshow audio/video decoder and DirectVobSub

So far having trouble with Imouto (OP) (UTW) (lag only), Angel Beats! (OP/ED) (Doki 1080 BD) (audio only), and SAO (ED) (UTW) (audio/lag)

Going to replay some animes to see if I can reproduce the issue

CCCP was last updated November 2011, so some of the codecs are pretty old. That might be the issue. One of the reasons I ditched CCCP and just installed MPC and the codecs of my choice.

Try disabling VobSub and using MPC's internet sub renderer with... maybe the EVR sync video renderer.

How do I do that? I've been running CCCP "as is" as far as I can remember (sorry, if it's a noob question)

Let me try to remember, haha. Been a while since I've even though about CCCP.

Try opening the problem file (I'm assuming it's an MKV). When you open it, look in your system tray area and look for the DirectVobSub icon. I think if you click it you can open up settings. If you're able to, disable it.

While keeping the MKV open, look in the system tray again and open FFDShow video filter. Scroll through the options and see if you can enable/disable sub rendering. Disable if possible.

Now in your MC window, go View->Options. On the left hand side of options, look for Playback->Output. Set that to EVR Sync.

Now on the menu again, look for External Filters. You might see DirectVobSob there. If it is, disable it.

On the menu again, look for Subtitles. Set texture resolution to Desktop, and check off "Allow animation while buffering."

    See if that works.

If it doesn't, I honestly would say to ditch CCCP and do standalone codecs/filters (which I'd be happy to walk you through if you choose to do so).

One more thing: Is your CPU load high when playing back the problem files?

Install xy-vsfilter and use the bundled edition of MPC-HC that comes with CCCP. That should generally suffice: https://code.google.com/p/xy-vsfilter/

Tick LAV video on the first page of the CCCP settings application for another little performance boost.

If you experience any issues after doing the two things I mentioned, then please open the video in MPC-HC and tell me what items are listed in the Play-> Filters menu.

No significant changes in codecs have happened since then for H.264 and similar video playback.

Eh, I don't know then. I've seen on FFDShow's site that they have updated versions past 11-11-'11.

I also did notice there was some color discrepancy between CCCP and MadVR when playing back 10bit video.

Ticking LAV video on the first page of the CCCP settings application should fix that colour tint.

madVR is also great though I don't think most people would notice the difference between it and EVR (in MPC-HC: View-> Options-> Output). I used to swear by madVR, but for the now I just use EVR (not EVR-Custom Pres which is slower and by default scales video with the comparatively blurry bilinear scaler).
