Using haali media renderer. I've tried different audio renderers but nothing works.
It's a bluray of The Social Network and it's .mkv on my hard drive -- not disk.
edit: It seems to be working fine with my other videos. Hard to tell because they're whiteboard tutorials but I'm fairly certain.

Try CCCP and use the version of MPC-HC that is bundled with it.
Otherwise, what appears in the menu: Play-> Filters when you have the file open.
MediaInfo of the file might also help. -
Here's what it shows me.
I'd rather not do the CCCP thing as I don't need a lot of what it provides.Attached Files:

Either install CCCP (unless you know how to configure FFDShow yourself)... CCCP is just MPC-HC and FFDShow preconfigured, plus splitters (e.g. for 'splitting' MKV into video, audio and subtitles if present) which you also need.
...or switch video renderer to EVR-CP:
FAQ - CCCP
If you get artifacting while using DXVA in EVR-CP, you will need FFDShow for multithreading. -
CCCP did it. Using Haali just fine.
edit: Should I switch to madvr? -
It looks quite a bit better than Haali's Renderer for scaling and colour, but it also uses up more GPU time.
Probably not recommended if you are watching video on battery power. -
Oh, how can I configure upscaling?
-
It will scale when you change the size of the MPC-HC window or put into fullscreen (alt+ enter, or double click the video area).
-
Gotcha. I'll switch to that then, thank you.
-
When I'm on battery mode (weak Intel graphics card), I use the EVR video renderer (not EVR-Custom Pres) as has alright scaling while being light on GPU and you can't seem to watch DVDs on Windows 7 while using Haali's Renderer or madVR.

I'm very rarely on battery power since it's a desktop replacement but good to know.
