before i did a reformat, i had office 2007 installed, and whenever i opened it, it went straight to the application.

AFTER the reformat, every week or so, when i click word 2007, it starts configuring office 2007, and THEN opens word. configuration takes a good 10 mins, but it just happens so damn much. what happened?

occasionally when i click on ms word 2007, it wont go straight to the actual application. it'll go to this window that resembles the initial installation window, which reads "Please wait while Setup configures Microsoft Office..." or something very similar.

It happened to me as well, with MS Office, and MSN Messenger. Turns out it always happened after a registry clean-up, one or more registry keys that were essential, were deleted. That's what happened with me though.

i would be very wary of those registry cleaners...they always happen to mess something up and delete something that shouldn't be deleted

Well crap cleaner has been good to me, but in general I am not sure the point of registry keys because the minimal performance boost from cleaning versus the risk of deleting a needed key. Unless you know the registry well -- I'd avoid them.
