Hi, I am getting ready to purchase/order a laptop fairly soon. I'm thinking I may have to purchase MS Office 2007, I use it quite frequently (especially Outlook). However; I just found an old copy of MS Office 2000 in a drawer!!!!!

Is MS Office 2000 compatible w/Vista Premium? Or, is that obsolete now, that I shouldn't attempt to load it onto my notebook when I purchase it?

I'm just trying to save myself some money, if I don't have to purchase MS Office 2007, when I have an older version (2000) of the same thing.

I currently have MS Office 2003 on my desktop - but no longer have the CD rom to it - so that option is already ruled out.

    Thanks!

Hi, I have MS Office 2000 on my Vista laptop. Everything runs fine except for Outlook, for some reason I couldn't configure it properly even though I followed the same steps that I did for XP. Currently I use "Window's Mail" the one that comes with Vista which is similar to Outlook but is more basic in function. Hope this helps.

Yeah, it is. But I've heard a lot of people say that it isn't compatible with Outlook and that some people get random error messages, so I'll recommend upgrading to Office 2007.

Meh I didn't get any when I used it for a few days. Then I used office 2003. And office 2007 is expensive. Better off going with other stuff such as OpenOffice or something.. There are plenty of outlook alternatives, such as Thunderbird and whatnot.
