I have Outlook 2007 on my laptop and would like to export the personal folder into my desktop Outlook 2002. I receive a error saying not compatable.
If anyone has a method to import 2007 into 2002 please help me.
    thank you

the .pst file are not compatible

you can go forward, as 2007 will read them all, but not backwards. I think the change was made starting in Outlook 2003.

see if you can save the 2007 .pst file(if that is how you are exporting--most common) as a 2000 pst file-- maybe you have the option under the properties tab as you are exporting it.

check out the 2007 outlook help site. There are also several 3rd party backups that might be backwards compatible-- use a trial to see if it works b4 buying-let me know if you need a suggestion.

I used Transcend to migrate directly from Thunderbird to Outlook 2007. You might read up on it (and other alternatives) and see if it will do what you want. One possible method might be to export to a flat file format (csv, perhaps) and then import that, but that could be ugly, too.
