    Hey guys,

I just received a BSOD and after some lite research I found that it is probably not fixable and is super rare. Just wanting to see if anyone has received or dealt with it. It may be due to my new video drivers, so I figure I will wait and see.

The error was the one concerning TCIP . sys or something very close.

Well I have updated them with the newest drivers I could find online, and today another BSOD. It seems as if I am a magnet, I was fine for weeks, and now all of a sudden, I refuse to believe these video drivers are doing it, I just changed to yet another stable set for better temps. I was able to research this before I must go recharge before an exam, it looks like drivers again, but not sure as there was a huge expanse of resolutions.

Here be the info, and thank you again for helping me out:

I did run memtest86 and after 115% I was tired of waiting any more than an hour and a half, so I restarted. I did not see any errors, but should I have gone to 10000% then does it stop? I can afford to run it longer later, but it was over 90 minutes for this test...

I had the same problem with G2S, In my case I solved it installing another sound card drivers, the realtek also serves as a modem so it has a TCIP driver too.

    Regards.

I don't remember what drivers I installed on my old G2S, I'm currently using 1.81 on my G2SG and they work fine, no BSOD so far, so try those.

I have downloaded the new Realtek HD Audio drivers and I will try em out. On Asus, the Audio numbering is newer on the G2SG, but I am not exactly sure what the difference would be from that of the G2S, just a driver change and all the other app stuff is the same? Not sure. Would I also download the ATI HDMI sound driver as well? Its an nvidia card, but it does say hdmi sound, and I do know that the sound on hdmi is through realtek.

No, you don't need the ATI driver, the standard driver also allows for HDMI audio output, you just need to set the device to digital output and it will output the sound through the HDMI cable.

I think the realtek chipset on the G2Sg is the same as on all the other G series laptops, I don't know why the number is different, maybe just a newer driver.

Sick, I have to restart, but we shall see. I hope it preserves the nice tray application :) PS: How is your SG? I just got my S, but there is potential I hope. I am in envy of you tuner, and your 8700.

The G2Sg is awesome, works fine, I'm very happy with it, they only think I don't like is that it comes with a WXGA+ screen here in Europe, I wish it had a WUXGA screen.

Ye, the WUXGA is very nice when multitasking, something I have no limit for. I find myself gaming, surfing the web, listening to music, notepad for my todo list, and pidgin. I guess now that my system can handle it, I do it all...at once. When no ingame, the high res practically helps with web design, going back and form from photoshop and dreamweaver. Thank you for your help, everything is rocking like 1995 and good to go.
