From the article, it sounds like it's aimed at businesses, not consumer individuals, so the economics are different.

Oh wow, more world bandwidth used up, great. Another continental backbone line needs to be put in. I know cloud computing will be good for businesses, i guess. But wouldn't you like to know all your computer's components are controlled by you (in a sense, not technically)? I think this is more of a control issue, like i don't understand how people who know a little about computers will just move to cloud computing and everything being controlled by central servers. I just don't agree this is a good idea for consumers, what if servers crash?

Uh, I don't think they're going to be very interested in consumers for a long, long time. Something like this might be of interest to a large multinational with widely-spread facilities, none of which is really big enough to justify the investment in complete infrastructure just for that site's computing needs. As such, the bandwidth to be used is almost certainly going to be that on private lines - leased or owned - that your IP packets will never get to travel on.
