How do you change the standard paragraph spacing in MSWord 2007 from 10pt to 0pt and from 1.15 spacing to single spacing (e.g. like Word 2003)?

I think i get what you're saying. You mean the huge space it makes when you press the enter button right? I'm also interested in knowing this.

Same, I remember I managed to turn it off for each individual document. But it would never stay that way once I opened a new file.

On the "Home" tab, "Paragraph" section (third from the left), press button that looks like a double arrow pointing up and down with lines of text on the right - it is the middle button in the bottom row of the "paragraph section" (first on on the left of text alignment buttons)
When you press it, you either have to have all you text selected to change existing paragraphs, or have blank page in front of you. You can press "remove spacing before/after paragraph" and change line spacing there, or just click "line spacing options" for a dialog windows where you can manually change it all.
for this to stay permanent you probably have to edit the "default" template in word, but i didn't try to play with that.

It's actually pretty easy to change the template, I did it for myself.
-Open a blank document and adjust the paragraph settings to your liking.
-Click on the Office Button in the upper right hand corner and click the arrow next to "Save as".
-Select "Word Template"
-In the Favorite Links pane, click on the "Templates" folder
-Name the file "Normal" and save.
From now on every document you open should have the adjusted paragraph settings.
