Ok so I was doing my economics assignment with various graphs I made using Word tools and I saved it. When I re-opened it, Word had somehow not only managed to move the elements of my graphs, it managed to somehow swap the content of my textboxes.

So for example, my axes labels became my curve labels, my curve labels became my variable values and so on and so forth. It's like Word switched the content and size of my text boxes.

I restarted Word and fixed everything but it did it again when I saved. I have a PDF version now that's stable, but idk what to do if I need to edit it...

Any ideas why Word would do that? I've never had this problem before :/

Never had that either so i'm kinda clueless, what version of word.

Just knowing that might help someone else find your answer.

I think this happens when saving it with compatibility mode for word 97 and below.

try saving it as a docx file.

Yeah, if you're using Word, make sure it's defaulting to save as the native .docx version (2010 revision if you're using Office 2010), since some more complex formatting can change with .doc or 2007 .docx.

It was Word 2010 and yes, the document was saved as a .docx file. It's weird I've never had that happen to me before using Word 2010 and I've done a few economics assignments with similar graphs on Word before...
